Shows | Rockford Meltfest & Beloit College

April 9, 2015

Well, it finally happened. Something we've never done before... a show that began BEFORE noon!  10:30 a.m. to be exact! We were one of four bands to serenade the ears of runners, walkers, and shoppers alike, and all in one location!  Second annual Rockford MeltFest took place on Saturday, March 21st, at the Prairie Street Brewhouse, ushering in Spring and all it's glory. We opened for Starlite Radio, who are also good friends of our, so that was LOTS of fun! At the other end of the building, guests were entertained by The Defeated Royals, and Mark Reed & Waddy (who just so happen to be my parents!).  It was an amazing day full of fun activities for kids, tons of local food and craft vendors, great beer, and of course... music!

So we had an early show. Then we had a LATE show - that same day! at 10:15 that night we rocked our for a bunch of college students at Beloit College's Coughy Haus! We played there back in November, but definitely had a better turn out this time around. It's a rustic, underground campus bar that welcomes all kinds of musical acts, while serving up yummy Wisconsin beer.  This time around we opened for Chicago punk-rock band Kangaroo.  Jesse was fighting a major chest cold at the time, so we had to lower the key to a few songs, and skip a couple of our favs, but it worked out okay. The life of a musician (((sigh))) :-)

It was a LOT of activity packed into one day, but they were both fun shows. Here are a couple of photos of us from MeltFest, courtesy of Sandoval Photography
