Back in January, we received a message from a gal in Westmont, IL, wanting to book us at a venue called The Commons. A real show. A 45-minute set opening up for another band. We were ecstatic! We asked her how she found us, and she said she came across us on the internet... wow! So we said yes, of course. She then went on to ask for a performance agreement and rider. Yes, a rider. No one had ever asked us for a rider before! So we threw one together, completely thinking that nothing we asked for would be provided -- which was okay! Fast forward four months, Jesse and I make the drive to Westmont. Upon arrival we are shown to a green room, full of goodies we had requested: red wine, cheese and crackers, craft beer, granola bars, fruit, and veggie tray. We were blown away! They went on to buy us dinner! Such amazing people are running that place... please check it out if you're in the area.
Now, we of course were sharing these tasty treats with the headling band... Zach Pietrini, a group of very down-to-earth guys, who play amazing Midwestern Americana. They have an album coming out soon, which you should definitely check out! It was such a pleasure getting to hang out and relax with them before the show, sipping on something tasty, sharing stories of shared musician expericences... joys and frustrations alike.
Jen from Catalyst Design and Photography came along and took some amazing photos during both acts. Enjoy!
