Folk & Americana duo from Rockford, Illinois

For The Lone Canary, making music together goes back to childhood. Jesse Fox and Heather Camacho grew up learning each other’s timing and finding where their voices fit together. Decades of singing side by side have made the smallest nuances familiar—a change in phrasing, a breath, where a harmony will land. Framed by acoustic guitar and fiddle, their voices give the Rockford, Illinois duo’s folk and Americana the feeling of a late-night conversation around a kitchen table—unhurried and comfortable enough to say what usually goes unsaid. Their 2025 album, Dime Store Horses, was called one of the year’s best by B-Sides & Badlands and won Album of the Year at the 2026 Rockford Area Music Industry (RAMI) Awards.
