WHAT IS A HOUSE CONCERT?

A House Concert is a private, listening-room-style performance that brings The Lone Canary into your home (or another welcoming space) for you and your guests. It’s intimate—stories, a little Q&A, and a night that feels personal instead of “bar background music.”

THE SHOW

The Lone Canary is a Folk/Americana duo:

• Heather — vocals, violin, percussion

• Jesse — vocals, guitar, percussion

 

Format: Two 40-minute sets with a short intermission (about 2 hours total).
We love questions—songwriting, tour stories, gear, whatever you’re curious about.

 

WHERE CAN I HOST?

Any space that fits your guest list + about a 10’ x 10’ area for us: living rooms, basements, garages, patios/backyards (weather permitting), offices/studios after hours.

 

COST / GUARANTEE

Our minimum total is $500. Most hosts do it one of two ways:

1. Suggested Donation (common approach):

   • Ask guests for a $25 donation (cash or digital).

     • If donations reach $500+, you’re set.

     • If not, the host covers the remainder.

2. Flat Fee / Host-Paid:
   The host pays $500 upfront. Guests attend free (optional pass the hat/donations + merch welcome).

OPTIONAL ADD-ON: “SIPS & SOUNDS”

Want to level it up during intermission? We can help design a signature cocktail (or mocktail) and do a quick “how to make it” demo.

 

Add-on cost: $20/guest (depending on cocktail build).
 

LOGISTICS

• Guest count: typically 20+

• Seating: chairs/cushions (or ask guests to bring their own)

• Sound: we bring a small PA; we just need one standard outlet

• Timeline: we arrive ~1 hour before guests arrive to set up; guests arrive ~30 minutes before showtime

 

TRAVEL

• Up to 1 hour from Rockford, IL included

• Beyond that: travel fee quote based on distance

HOW TO BOOK

1. Email 2–3 date options (weeknights or weekends) + your city + estimated guest count

2. $100 deposit holds the date (applied to total)

3. Remaining balance due the night of the show
