MUSIC
Long BIO
The Lone Canary is the award-winning Americana duo of Jesse Fox and Heather Camacho, whose harmony-laced songs balance intimacy and grit, hope and heartache. Rooted in Rockford, Illinois, Fox and Camacho have been playing music together since their high school years, a bond that has evolved into a sound defined by trust, chemistry, and storytelling honed over decades.
Their music draws inspiration from artists such as Jason Isbell, The Civil Wars, Watchhouse, and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings — weaving together acoustic guitar, fiddle, foot percussion, and two voices that lock in as if they’ve always belonged. Known for their haunting harmonies and raw, evocative songwriting, The Lone Canary has earned praise from outlets like Americana UK for their “absorbing and beautiful songcraft” and A&R Factory for their “hypnotically suspenseful Americana folk.”
Over the years, they’ve shared stages with Three Dog Night, Over the Rhine, Pieta Brown, Lilly Hiatt, Jackie Venson, and The Accidentals, performing at festivals and showcases including Mile of Music, Knoxville’s Blue Plate Special, and NPR Music. Their 2020 album Leave the Gray, mastered by GRAMMY-winner David Donnelly, marked a creative milestone and introduced a wider audience to their haunting, harmony-driven style.
Now, with their third full-length record Dime Store Horses (out September 12, 2025), The Lone Canary continues their journey with a collection of songs that lean deeper into raw honesty and expansive storytelling. More than just music, their work offers listeners a space to wrestle with love, loss, faith, and resilience — the fragile, flickering truths that make us human.
